Visitors / Relative Support
Relatives and carers are encouraged to keep regular contact with the staff to monitor their relative's health. The Home Manager encourages the establishment of support groups for relatives as we recognise the emotional impact of admission and the complex feelings experienced by relatives during a resident's stay. Counselling services are available if required.
Relatives are encouraged to speak to senior staff on duty at any time and visit whenever convenient. As a measure of security for residents, everyone visiting Haywood Oaks Care Home will be asked to sign in and out using the Visitors Book.
Visitors play a very important part in the home. They are always welcomed and we like them to join in any entertainment or activities if they wish. Friends and relatives can visit as often as they like and stay as long as they want. They can sit with relatives in the lounge or in their bedroom.
Visitors are always welcome any time no appointment needed.
Our only request is that if visitors will be arriving late in the evening, they telephone to warn the staff to expect them. Of course, should a resident not wish to have visitors, then that is their right.
In the interests of health and safety, visitors are asked not to smoke in the home
